(Atlanta, GA – June 25, 2010) MTI Baths, leading manufacturer of quality kitchen and bath products and known for its unique customizations, has announced that Ryan Whitinger has been promoted to Chief Operations Officer. Previously Whitinger served as Director of Manufacturing for the company.
Whitinger has had a long and successful career with MTI Baths. He joined the company at age 21 as a young college graduate, after studying electrical engineering at Washington’s Spokane Community College. He was hired in 1992 by company founder JC Henry and started out modestly enough, doing maintenance work in the production plant. Management quickly recognized his talent and potential, and as the company prospered, he assumed additional responsibility. He created the logistics department and the purchasing/sourcing center, worked in human resources and information systems, and was named plant manger by age 26.
Perhaps one of Whitinger’s most significant contributions to the success of MTI Baths has been his invention of Simple Touch®, a more automated version of MTI’s patented, famous Fill-Flush® whirlpool cleaning system. He is also co-inventor of Radiance®, a patent-pending system for heating the surface of MTI bathing vessels.
“Ryan has been an integral part of MTI Baths ’success,” said Russell Adams, MTI President. “With his engineering background, technical expertise and sheer ingenuity, he has created some of the innovative product features for which the MTI brand is most known. We are certain his new position will give him an even greater platform for nurturing MTI’s commitment to quality and customization.”
Whitinger has always been a firm believer in the success of MTI Baths. When Mr. Henry decided to retire in 2001, Whitinger was part of a group of employees that successfully purchased the company. In fact, he invested his life savings to become one of the shareholders. “I knew early in my career that the company was destined to be great,” he said. “An opportunity like that one only comes around once in a lifetime. Without hesitation, my wife and I decided to invest our future in MTI.”
In his new position as COO, Whitinger plans to maintain his commitment to innovative product design and use his leadership skills to ensure that the MTI brand continues to grow and gain new market shares.
