Out of several thousand of the world’s leading manufacturers, MTI Baths was recognized for their innovation and cutting-edge design. In October, the jury met in New York and Los Angeles and selected over 700 product designs and graphics from over 36 nations worthy of the GOOD DESIGN™ Award for their Design Excellence, and the Juliet was proudly one of them .
“We are so pleased to be named one of the winners of a GOOD DESIGN™ Award,” stated Russell Adams, MTI’s President and Chief of Design who worked in tandem with Audrey Newsome. “The Juliet tub was actually inspired by an antique bowl which evoked something striking and unexpected,” said Audrey of Audrey Newsome Designs. “It resulted in a visually dramatic tub that seamlessly combines fluidity and elegance with modern convenience.”
Founded in Chicago in 1950 by the The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, GOOD DESIGN remains the oldest and the world’s most recognized program for design excellence worldwide. In addition to receiving credit on the Museum’s website at www.chi-athenaeum.org, the Juliet tub will be published in the GOOD DESIGN Yearbook for 2014-2015.
