Lori Evans The Evans Edit - Evans Construction & Design
Invest in Statement Pieces - like a freestanding tub! As a successful interior designer with over 20 years of experience, Lori Evans loves to tackle new design projects. She encourages clients to conquer any feelings of intimidation by making a plan and choosing timeless pieces. “Stay away from trends,” she advises. “Invest in big pieces that you really like, such as a freestanding tub or a statement piece of furniture.”
A native of Miami and graduate of the University of Florida, Lori and her husband Philip own and operate their business together, with Lori heading up the design department and Philip serving as general contractor. She chronicles their adventures in creating their personal dream home “Designer & Builder’s Dream Home” on her successful blog, The Evans Edit, where she also shares design ideas and inspirations. One of her favorite rooms is the gorgeous master bathroom, which features MTI’s own Elise tub.
“When I was selecting a bathtub, I knew I wanted a showstopper that felt like a piece of art,” said Lori. “The Elise is perfect – it is luxurious and the highlight of the room. Everything was chosen to complement the Elise as the focal point, such as the wainscoting behind the tub to set the stage for it to really shine.”
Lori made a visit to MTI’s factory near Atlanta to get an up-close look at the creative process behind their tubs. “What an amazing experience! The people couldn’t be nicer and the factory couldn’t be cooler. They make the most beautiful, sculptural tubs you see time and again while thumbing through design magazines. MTI is a pleasure to work with and their tub is a perfect addition to my own beautiful bathroom.”
